Safiya M. Bekmez is the first of four children raised in north Jersey. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University New Brunswick with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, History and Middle Eastern Studies. Shortly thereafter, she received her Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School with high honors.

While at New York Law School, Safiya was the president of the Muslim Law Student Association and was presented with the Leadership Award at graduation. She was one of the few students to be selected to the Housing Rights Clinic and was a member of the Center for Real Estate Studies. From the beginning, her passion was real estate law and is primarily focusing on real estate law as her main area of practice. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey.

She is fluent in Turkish and has taken courses at Harvard University and studied abroad in various programs in Europe. Safiya choose to pursue her law degree in New York because she knew she always wanted to settle down in the tri-state area and wanted to grow her roots in New Jersey. Safiya prides herself in her work ethic and genuinely cares about the well-being of her clients and colleagues. She is well known for being one of the most responsive and proactive attorneys in the area.
